Log wagon rolling into St. Paul, ca. 1900. During the heyday of the timber industry in Northwest Arkansas (late 1800s-1920s), the Madison County community of St. Paul was a thriving boomtown. It took three teams of horses to bring this massive log into town! Click on the photo for a closer look.

We congratulate Joy Russell on her recent publication, Stepping Back Into Time: St. Paul, Arkansas 1886-1937. The book is available for purchase through the Madison County Genealogical and Historical Society. All profits from book sales go to the Society to support their work of preserving Madison County history.
