Temporary Exhibits

Scenes of Boone County
Through April 26

The county wasn’t named after Daniel Boone, as some have claimed. Rather, its beautiful land was said to be a boon (a gift) to its settlers.

Tech-Knowledge-Gee!
Through June 7

People have always wanted to find faster and better ways to communicate over long distances. Created especially for kids, this hands-on exhibit explores the history of communication from the telegraph to the computer.

Play Ball!
Through July 26

Baseball found its way to Northwest Arkansas before the end of the 1800s. The rise of the game as a professional sport had taken over by the 1930s with the Arkansas-Missouri League. High school and college teams and youth programs continued to make baseball games a competition worth attending for students, families, and sports enthusiasts throughout the 20th century.
