Earth to Shiloh: Ozark Ecosystems Then and Now

GRADES 3 - 8

OBJECTIVES

1. Students will learn about the geology of the Arkansas Ozarks.

2. Students will learn about some plants and animals that no longer exist.

3. Students will learn basic needs of living organisms.

4. Students will learn about different types of ecosystems.

5. Students will learn about food chains.

STRATEGIES

1.Discuss the Ozark Plateau and demonstrate how it was formed.

2. Show fossils and talk about some plants and animals that no longer exist.

3. Talk about what all living things need to survive.

4. Compare an aquatic ecosystem to a forest ecosystem.

5. Play the food chain game.
