We Can Help You Teach Local History

One of the Shiloh Museum’s primary functions is to serve as an educational resource for students of all ages throughout Northwest Arkansas. School programs include field trips to the museum, portable programs brought to the classroom, discovery boxes, and a Teacher’s Workshop. Shiloh Museum school programs are available to classes, homeschools, scout troops, and other organized groups at no charge.

The education staff at the Shiloh Museum provides resources for integrating the history of the Arkansas Ozark region with math, fine arts, science, language arts, and social studies curriculum frameworks. Our education programs programs include:

  • learning objectives
  • strategies
  • targeted grades
  • curriculum frameworks
  • vocabulary lists
  • activities

Discovery boxes of artifacts and teaching materials are also available for use in the classroom.

TEACHER WORKSHOPS
Learn how to use the Shiloh Museum of Ozark History as a teaching tool. Our workshop is designed to fulfill the professional development requirement for those teaching Arkansas history, focusing on the use of Discovery Box artifacts to meet current Social Studies frameworks. Teacher workshops are available at no charge.

We welcome any ideas on how the museum might better serve you and your students. Email Pody Gay, Education Coordinator, with your questions, comments, and observations; phone 479-750-8165.
