Hickory Grove School, ca. 1906
Iva E. Lynch Wheeler Collection
S-2006-176-5

This handmade teacher’s desk came from Hickory Grove School near the Madison County community of Clifty. Arley Lynch gave it to his nephew Doyle in the late 1960s when the school building became a church. Doyle’s mother, Gladys Lynch and his aunt, Olvie (Phillips) Lynch both taught at Hickory Grove School, which was consolidated with the Huntsville School District in 1949.

Donated by Doyle Lynch
