"Early Madison County, 1835-1865," a program by Joy Russell, president of the Madison County Genealogical and Historical Society. July 26, 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. “The Civil War in Shiloh” Summer Saturday program. The life of a Civil War surgeon will be portrayed by Doug Kidd, along with musket drllls, cavalry recruits, a cannon display, lacemaking demonstrations, log cabin cooking and storytelling. August 12-February 21, 2009. First Things First, an exhibit featuring collections from the early years of the Shiloh Museum. Opening date subject to change due to museum roof repairs. August 20, noon. "From Sumac Trees to Superhighway: The Butterfield Stage Route Through Northwest Arkansas," a program by John McLarty, assistant director of the Northwest Arkansas Regional Planning Commission, and Susan Young, Shiloh Museum outreach coordinator. Due to roof repairs at the museum, this program will be held at the First United Methodist Church next door to the museum. August 23, 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. “Quit Lollygaggin’ and Do Your Chores!” Summer Saturday program, featuring soapmaking, gardening, churning butter, washing clothes, quilting, candlemaking, spinning, weaving, hunting and trapping, music, and storytelling. August 26-February 21, 2009. Happy Birthday, Shiloh!, a photo exhibit celebrating 40 years of preserving Northwest Arkansas history at the Shiloh Museum. September 6, 10:00 a.m.-noon.
