Springdale Man Arrested for Aggravated Assault/Terroristic Threatening

On July 23, 2008 Springdale Police responded to 1901 Timberline in reference to disturbance in which a male, later identified as Shannon Cook (35), had produced a firearm and threatened to kill his neighbors.

Mr. Cook was not located at that time. He did turn himself in on July 25th, to the Washington County Sheriff's Office on unrelated warrants. He was also charged at that time with the aggravated assault and terroristic threatening incident, which had occurred in Springdale. Mr. Cook was later released after posting the $5000 bond.

On July 28, 2008 Springdale Police again responded to 1901 Timberline for another disturbance involving Mr. Cook and his neighbors, during which he again threatened to kill them. While responding to this urgent call, a Springdale Police officer was involved in a non injury traffic accident.

During the investigation, it was determined that Mr. Cook had physically assaulted a neighbor and again threatened to kill him and his family. Mr. Cook was taken into custody and charged with Assault 2nd and Terroristic Threatening. He was then transported to the Washington County Sheriff's Office and turned over.

Three Charged in Springdale Shooting

In reference to the aggravated assault/shooting that occurred on July 28, 2008 at 815C N. Pleasant, three arrests have been made following the investigation. Bobby Watkins (38) was charged with Aggravated Assault, Committing a Terroristic Act, and Felon in Possession of a Firearm. David Reimers (26) was charged as an accomplice to Committing a Terroristic Act. The last suspect, Kelly Isaac (42) was also charged as an accomplice to Committing a Terroristic Act and was wanted for a federal probation violation.

Possible Shooting Suspects Apprehended

7/29/08

On Monday, July 28, 2008 at approximately 11:00PM, Springdale Police officers responded to 815C N. Pleasant in reference to an aggravated assault involving gun shots being fired into the apartment building. No injuries were reported during the incident.

During the investigation, three possible suspects were identified, but were not located. On Tuesday, July 29, 2008 Springdale Police Detectives, along with officers from the Rogers Police Department, located two of the suspects, along with several other occupants, at an address in Rogers. After a standoff, the two suspects, were taken into custody on unrelated outstanding warrants.

The shooting in Springdale is still under investigation and charges have yet to be determined. Additional information, including names and charges, will be released as it becomes available.

Increase in Criminal Mischief to Vehicles

7/10/08

 The Springdale Police Department took 32 reports of Criminal Mischief to vehicles overnight. In many of the cases, tires were slashed. It also appears that the suspects entered several unlocked cars and opened the trunks. It is undetermined what property was stolen and the case is still under investigation.

The Springdale Police Department would like to remind all residents that no neighborhood is exempt from criminal activity and all suspicious activity should be reported. Vehicles should be parked in well-lighted and highly visible locations. Residents need to remove all interior valuables from plain view, roll up all windows, and lock all doors on their vehicles. If possible, a car alarm and alarm decals should be installed.

Fugitive Located in Texas

07/01/2008

The Springdale Police Department has been notified that Jesus Garcia (42) was located and arrested on the U.S./Mexico border near Brownsville Texas. Mr. Garcia was arrested on an outstanding felony warrant for manslaughter in connection with the death of Ricarti Bayona, which had resulted from a fight that occurred at the Sunset Saloon on September 13, 2007. Mr. Garcia left the area following the incident and has been sought by the Springdale Police Department since. Mr. Garcia will eventually be extradited back to Arkansas. No other information is available at this time.
